I am requesting prayer for my middle son - Jesse. He is my angel and my heart. June 25th, his 13th birthday, we went in for his 2nd Cystic Fibrosis sweat test. He failed it again. I am crushed. Our family has been through a trememdous amount of difficulty this year...I was just released from the hospital for kidney failure when we received the news. Needless to say, we are in shock. I have spent the last 3 days bawling my eyes out. We are seeing a Pulminary specialist on July 10th.
My prayers are that there was an error in the testing and he does not have Cystic Fibrosis. Through the short time I have dealth with this though, I have realized that when all else is stripped away, the only thing I have to cling to is Jesus. It is through suffering and trials that we broadcast what is most important in our lives the loudest. I know that the God I serve is an awesome God, no matter what the outcome of our testing. My son is the most spiritually mature child I know and he is a ROCK! He is ready to broadcast to the world what an amazing God he serves in spite of what may come in his life...he was not made for this world but for the world to come. This said, I request prayers from all who read this and know us for God's will to be done and for our family to have the strength to walk through the path laid out ahead.
Thank you all in advance!

Hi!
I'm a mom of a 9 yr old who has CF. Allow yourself time to panic, grieve, be angry. Then, research your pulmonologist. Find one you like. Meanwhile, read about CF on the CF Foundation's website.
In the 50's kids didn't live to be 5 typically. Today, if several drugs that are being worked on work, our children may live to be old and wrinkled.
You obviously have faith. Now, do the legwork and check out the science that is going to change the future for our children.

Hang in there,

Lynn, I will be definately praying for your son, you and your family. Our Lord is awesome and He is the great Physician, surely there for your comfort and to cast all your cares upon. I am so glad that you are a believer and have this reassurance. I don't know how people can live life without Him. In the meanwhile, God is working despite the frustration. Your son is shining brightly for Him. That is SO awesome! I will pray for continued strength and healing~
Lots of hugs and love~

THank you guys so much for all the kind words. The Prayers are so greatly needed. I have days where I am so strong and days when I cry all day. Today I made him work on cleaning out his sinuses with a sinus wash. I just want things easy for him but I know God's will needs to be done for him. He is an awesome child...we are in the middle of our all-star baseball tournament right now. WooHoo! Nice distraction! Thanks again!

Lynn,
I will be praying for your son and your family. Remember, God is still on the throne! I didn't realize you had kidney failure either, are you doing ok now? your family will be in my daily prayers!
Michelle,
God is still awesome, even if I DON'T want to be going through this, I know God is in control of it all. Anything that brings us closer to God is a good thing, even kidney failure and cystic fibrosis. I go to a nephrologist on the 9th. My Urologist laughed and said he never wanted to touch me again (long story) - Please pray for Jesse and for our family's endurance...I pray we are delivered from cystic fibrosis, but we may have to go through it with God instead. Prayers mean more than anything right now. Pray for us July 10th at 1:00 - 3:00 central time. That is when we meet with our son's cystic fibrosis specialist.
Thanks again!
Lynn
Lynn I am so sorry we will pray for your whole family.
Canela
Thank you Canela. We saw our Pulmonologist on the 10th. He said the definition of CF is any sweat test over 60. With Jesse's being 61 then by definition he has CF. All his tests and xrays were clear and normal. His blood panel came back saying there was no CF activity in any of his systems. We are waiting for 2 weeks for his genetic screening results. Chloe and Wesley will be screened on Tues. July 15th. Thank you all for the continued prayers!
Lynn
will definately send some prayers your way :)
Lynn...you are so amazing! You are so strong & standing on God's word is the most uplifting thing you can do. We have to lean on Him & his faith will get us through everything...even if we don't understand why things happen. I will be praying for you guys. Take care girl & keep your chin up :)
Katie
Thanks Katie.
I will post back here later to let everyone know what the doctor says about Chloe and Wesley.
Jesse told me yesterday that he was not afraid to die. I told him I would be his mom for eternity. He is so strong. He seems very healthy right now too. Today was a good day. We are not going by what a doctor says. We are counting each good day God gives us. We are having many more good days than bad and thank God for each. I remind myself that God gave me a precious gift...being the mom to Wesley, Jesse, and Chloe. BUT, in the end they are His. I just want to enjoy the good days.
