My Nephews!!!

These are my nephews...Cole is 5 - he's the blondie~ Conner is 3 and full of mischief! Baby Carter is 13 weeks. Cole is Chloe's buddy! He is 4 months older than her and everyone has always thought they were twins!

Cole and Conner both got their genetic screening back last week. It was NOT the news we wanted.

Their genetic markers with Cystic Fibrosis are G576A and R668C. Please pray that their markers are on the same chromosome (making them only carriers). If they are on different ones then they will have the disease.

I know that going through this with just one of my children was SOOOO hard. My heart is breaking for my sister having to go through of this with both her oldest ones. They are waiting to test baby Carter until he is older. Thanks in advance for all the prayers.

My Summer "Bible Study"

Hi!
This summer I discovered the passion series DVDs by Louie Gigglio. His DVD Hope When Life Hurts Most" was my liferaft for awhile. This is a small clip of one sermon in the series called How Great is Our GOD. His descriptions of this awesomely HUGE universe we have and the fact it magnifies the maker being an awesomely Huge God was cool. The first clip describes something called Laminin. Very cool.

This clip is my favorite...it speaks to anyone who finds themselves in a place of despair. God is in control!

His sermons are dead on for me. These 2 clips aren't even from my favorite message! I will have to search for his youtube on Hope. It was life changing for me.

Our CRAZY Summer!!!

Okay friends and family...I'm trying to give everyone a "quick" update on how our summer has been!!! We spent a chunk of time (and $$$) playing baseball! Jesse's Westside team went very far this year! He actually got to be on ESPN!!! Sadly, they got beaten by a very good Florida team one game short of making it to the World Series! It was their first loss ever as a team. ANYWAY, below is a photo of Jesse in his (stinky)dorm room at regionals in St Petersburg!

Here is a photo of Chloe with our Westside (Alabama) team in the background. Notice anything "different" about her? Yep, the pink monster! She broke her arm the first day of Jesse's state tournament while we were in Sheffield, Alabama. She had surgery a day or two later. To make things a little crazier...the day after the broken arm visit to the ER, Wesley, my 16 year old, injured his ankle! We went BACK to the ER for xrays. He ended up in an aircast and on crutches!!! (Wish we took a pic of them together!)

We've GOT to give a shout out here to the Tennessee team for "bearng it all" to support Alabama at regionals! This team had some super boys that were really pulling for us to beat Florida! We actually had several different state teams there supporting us. Says something about the character of the kids on Jesse's team.

And here is a pic of me and Wesley, my oldest...he actually just turned 16 - SCARY!!!! He got a super cool new cell phone and will get his dad's car after he finishes his driver's ed course and gets his liscense!!! Happy bday Wes!

And finally....an update on our health...God is a good God. I had to come to this realization no matter what the outcome in our family. I've shared with most everyone about the scripture I have clung onto all summer - John 16:33. "I have told you these things so that you will know in ME you will find peace. For in this world, there will be trouble, but take heart, I have overcome the world!"

Jesse is a christian. He told me this summer he was not afraid to die. Kinda hard for a mom to have to listen to her son need to say this. He told me he was sure he was going to heaven, he just may get there sooner than us! But, I have also told everyone that would listen that CF is not in control of his life, and neither are the doctors. God is in control of my baby. He will not leave this earth one second before God's will for his life is done. THIS IS WHERE WE WERE BEFORE OUR LAST DOCTOR'S VISIT!!!

This past week, we had a LOT of news. Jesse's genetic screening came in. He has NOT ONE genetic marker out of the 1500 they are able to screen with any Cystic Fibrosis!!! Our doc wanted us to do another sweat test. His last, as many of you know, he failed with a 61. He was in the diagnosis range for CF...THIS test came back only 40 - one point above normal!!! CRAZY! - Our doctor said that with all the testing and observations, he was backtracking on what he said earlier this summer!!! He said he now has determined that Jesse does not have CF!!! He thinks Jesse has something odd with his sweat chloride levels that does not include cystic fibrosis. God is a Good God - with the good or the bad. His own son was put to death for me and my children. I will thank him for the good and bad because all that He does is used for eternal good - whether I understand it or not. PLEASE continue to pray for my sister Karen. Her oldest 2 boys, Cole (5)and Conner (3), both have genetic markers that have shown up with genes for CF. We will know more about what this means for them in the next few weeks. Thanks to all for the prayers!

It's The Great Pumpkin!!!

I hope school is going well for everyone! It's sad to think I'm already focused on Halloween and Christmas!!! Outside here in the sunny south it's still screaming summer!!!!! Anyway, here is a quick shot of Chloe's Halloween set for the pumpkin patch! I may make her some overalls to match...not sure yet! I am currently selling this exact set in a size 2, 3 or 4/5 on ebay! I have it already made up and ready to ship in those 3 sizes! Here is a peek!

Please pray for my Baby.

I am requesting prayer for my middle son - Jesse. He is my angel and my heart. June 25th, his 13th birthday, we went in for his 2nd Cystic Fibrosis sweat test. He failed it again. I am crushed. Our family has been through a trememdous amount of difficulty this year...I was just released from the hospital for kidney failure when we received the news. Needless to say, we are in shock. I have spent the last 3 days bawling my eyes out. We are seeing a Pulminary specialist on July 10th.

My prayers are that there was an error in the testing and he does not have Cystic Fibrosis. Through the short time I have dealth with this though, I have realized that when all else is stripped away, the only thing I have to cling to is Jesus. It is through suffering and trials that we broadcast what is most important in our lives the loudest. I know that the God I serve is an awesome God, no matter what the outcome of our testing. My son is the most spiritually mature child I know and he is a ROCK! He is ready to broadcast to the world what an amazing God he serves in spite of what may come in his life...he was not made for this world but for the world to come. This said, I request prayers from all who read this and know us for God's will to be done and for our family to have the strength to walk through the path laid out ahead.

Thank you all in advance!

Puerto Rico

We are back from our Spring Break trip to Puerto Rico. We had a blast! And thank you to the teeny boppers from Conneticut who pushed Wesley into the pool with MY cell phone!
The kids loved meeting people from all over the US. Chloe was known by everyone at the resort as that cute little girly girl from Alabama! She knew more people than me or Mark did!!!

One night she tried to pay a 6 year old boy $25 to dance with her! It was too funny! I try to raise her right!

Wesley won the limbo contests and Jesse was awesome at beach volleyball. Mark had a ton of fun talking it up with some guys from work and taking the kids out on a sea doo. I read a book and soaked up the sun. The last day there Jesse talked me into doing the water park rides with him. We loved this trip and would go back some day! For our family that can't get enough photos, here is a link to more:

So....I do have other children!

So...most of you know me for my ebay and etsy business and you are bombarded with pictures of my Chloe. I wanted to show you two of Miss Chloe's biggest fans and her protectors...Her brothers, Wesley, who is 15, and Jesse, who is 12.
It seems like only yesterday when I had Wesley. Now, he will be driving this summer. Scary. And little Jesse, who has actually caught up with his big brother, is acting more and more mature every day. He is shaving now, which drives his big brother nuts! (I blame the excessive facial hair on crazy hormones given to livestock and ingested by us through milk and chicken...etc!) He has been shaving for about a year now. Crazy for an eleven year old to have to start shaving! Anyway, they are great protectors of their little sister. It started with our sonogram when our nurse snuck the boys into the room to get their first glimpse of their baby sister in my tummy. She went through the usual "these are the fingers. This is the heart..." but when she said, "now let's look between the legs" - little Jesse went nuts! How dare they do that to his baby!!! They will NOT let little boys say they like her - even though she is the "girlfriend" of every boy in her class and in the neighborhood. It drives them nuts. The first night we came home from the hospital with Chloe, Wesley actually beat me to get her when she had her "midnight cry". He was sitting in her room rocking her when I walked in. Such a sweet memory. The boys will be awesome dads.
This photo was taken for ebay designer Denise of So*Cherished. She made me the most gorgeous clay tile necklace out of my babies' picture. It is my most treasured piece of jewelry. I highly reccommend her.
So now you know...I do have other children.
